DbMAP 3D is a suite of professional applications for designing, creating and publishing geographic content, which can be visualized in 3D through the web.
The DbMAP 3D Suite produces 3D scenes , allowing the representation and analysis of territorial and urban data and integratation with existing Spatial Data Infrastructures.
DbMAP 3D Suite is a powerful, complete, easy-to-use software suite that provides an “on-the-fly” visualization of various data sources: manifold textures (aerial and satellite imagery), vectorial data, 3D models, and LiDAR data. Starting from digital elevation data, DbMAP 3D Suite produces accurate and efficient terrain models. These models are optimized both for internet use and a smooth navigation on 3D scenes of very wide extension. DbMAP 3D Suite consists of three modules: DbMAP 3D Builder, DbMAP 3D Server and DbMAP 3D Flyer.
Furthermore, the suite also includes the desktop application DbMAP 3D CityVision for modeling buildings on an urban scale in a highly automated and ergonomic manner.
DBMAP 3D Builder
DbMAP 3D Builder is a desktop application that easily and effectively allows building of a 3D dataset to be visualized with DbMAP 3D Flyer client.
3D datasets built with DbMAP 3D Builder can use multiple digital elevation models (DEM), various terrain images (textures layer) and vector layers, available in the most common formats.
The terrain model produced with DbMAP 3D Builder is optimized for efficient use across the Internet, and for a smooth navigation even in less powerful devices; the output format of the processing can be files or TINs of Oracle Spatial© 11g.
The construction of the 3D dataset is easy and affordable because of the “Workflow” wizard, which guides the operator step-by-step during all the stages of processing.
Using the DbMAP 3D Builder, you can add urban-scale buildings to a 3D dataset, either as simple extrusions or as accurate and elaborate objects processed by DbMAP 3D City Vision.
DBMAP 3D Server
DbMAP 3D Server is a set of server components and is the gate needed by the client application DbMAP 3D Flyer during navigation.
DbMAP 3D Server is able to efficiently combine various data sources “on-the-fly,” such as images, vector data, and LiDAR clouds of points.
DbMAP 3D Server offers configuration and authoring tools for maximum control over data publishing and over selection of informative layers over distributed services.
DbMAP 3D Server is able to connect and use geo-spatial databases with the most common formats (Oracle Spatial and Locator, PostgreSQL GIS, MySQL GIS, and also simple shapefiles). It supports the WMS standard (OGC) and is easily integrated with existing spatial data structures.
DBMAP 3D Flyer
DbMAP 3D Flyer is a powerful 3D visualization client that enables the exploration of 3D datasets created and configured using DbMAP 3D Builder. These datasets can then be distributed via the DbMAP 3D Server on the Web.
DbMAP 3D Flyer uses the best 3D visualization techniques to provide an interactive and engaging experience, with simple and intuitive navigation, and high performance for smooth movement and efficient data streaming.
DbMAP 3D Flyer reaches unsurpassed levels of detail of the terrain mesh, even on very extensive zones. Furthermore, it is able to show detailed buildings at an urban scale, huge quantities of vector data, and other informative layers.
DbMAP 3D Flyer provides advanced measurement and analysis tools. It perform queries on information layers, measurements (distance between two points, slope of the terrain, altitude profile along a path, area and volume, etc.), and it visualizes points clouds acquired with LiDAR.
The standard version of the DbMAP 3D Flyer is freely accessible to any user with a PC, Windows, or Apple iPhone/iPad devices.
