Navionics
Since 2004, GeoMind collaborates with Navionics in the design and development of software libraries and applications for the enrichment of marine and outdoor cartography.
The technologies developed for the production of 3D terrains and for the visualization of aerial photos and of 3D terrains on embedded platforms have contributed to the realization of the award winning Platinum cartography.
The recent collaborations have lead to the definition and implementation of a environment used to navigate on Navionics cartography on any platform (PCs, mobile phones, embedded) and the module Universal Viewer, developed by GeoMind, is the core access to the 3D visualization. It is used by leading marine chartplotter producers (e.g. Raymarine and Lowrance) and in Navionics products such as the TurboView.
Regione Toscana
Driven by the necessity of publishing to its citizens easily accessible geographic information, Regione Toscana has commissioned to GeoMind the elaboration of its aerial photo and of its DEM (digital elevation model) and the realization of a 3D viewer integrated in any web browser.
The first prototype of the 3D geographic viewer for Regione Toscana is In volo sull’Isola d’Elba and it has a vintage look; The images used by this application were obtained with a computer vision algorithm used to color b/w aerial photo, eXtreme Pan Sharpening (XPS).
Given the public appeal of In volo sull’Isola d’Elba, Regione Toscana has commissioned to GeoMind the XPS of b/w aerial photos all over Tuscany and the application TerraFlyer , which is based on Shockwave plugin in order to reach a vast audience.
TerraFlyer has been used by public administration and by public utilities for event communication, for environmental planning and public safety.
Seat Pagine Gialle
In order to enrich its offer of web marketing services, Seat Pagine Gialle has commissioned to Abaco, GeoMind’s partner, the elaboration of its digital elevation model and the creation of a 3D viewer to fly over its own data.
Initially the 3D scene has been used for the publication of advertisement, and it has been enriched with detailed urban models and extruded building with façade textures. The current 3D viewer contains advanced informative features such as weather forecast and street view.
Abaco
Abaco has been an important customer for GeoMind and, now, GeoMind is part of AbacoGroup.
The products developed for Abaco are currently commercialized by them and they are describe in the products page.
Most of the customers in Abaco portfolio use GeoMind technologies.
