In this section we give some technical details about 3DIMap.
3DIMap is a technology developed by Infmedia for the production of appealing and interactive 3D maps. It is constituted by a set of algorithms and software libraries which allows Infmedia to provide solutions with exclusive features for the delivery of 3D GIS contents to the Web.
3DIMap technology takes as input data:
Digital terrain elevation data (DEMs);
Geo-imagery (satellite images, aerial photos, topographic maps, etc.); Additional 3D custom models.3DIMap provides:
Processing
and optimization of terrain meshes;
Real-time 3D rendering; Interfaces
with databases; Programming
and delivery for the Web in standard format (Macromedia® Shockwave®, HTML).
